Privacy Policy

Ottala is a market-intelligence tool for Etsy sellers, currently in early access. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect little.
Who we are
“Ottala”, “we”, and “us” refer to the team building the Ottala product, reachable at hello@ottala.com. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you submit it to join the early-access waitlist. This is the only information you actively give us.
- Basic technical data that accompanies a waitlist submission: the time of the request and your browser’s user-agent string, used to prevent abuse and duplicates.
We do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this site, and we do not build profiles about you.
How we use it
We use your email address solely to contact you about Ottala early access and related product updates. When Ottala opens, we may email you an invitation. We will not send unrelated marketing, and every email includes a way to opt out.
Legal basis
We process your email on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the waitlist form. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see “Your rights” below).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information or share it for others’ marketing. We rely on a small number of processors that handle data on our behalf:
- Vercel, which hosts this website and runs the form endpoint.
- Neon, which provides the database where the waitlist is stored.
These providers may process data on servers located in the United States. Where required for transfers from the EEA/UK, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until Ottala launches and you have had the chance to accept or decline an invitation, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. If the project is discontinued, we delete the waitlist.
Cookies
This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Any storage used is strictly technical and necessary to serve the page.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these, email hello@ottala.com and we will act on your request. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
Ottala is intended for people running or planning a business and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product develops. When we do, we will revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use your email will be communicated by email where appropriate.
